Imagination is a powerful thing. So many wonderful books rely on imagination. As we read, the setting, characters, and situations become real to us. I remember my younger sister insisting, well past the age when she should have figured it out, that storybook characters were “real.”
Now, of course, I realize that she was correct.
Imagination takes flight in this edition of The Reading Style Guide. Imagine: operating heavy construction equipment, sailing on a Viking ship, having your own pet unicorn, and playing with the friend that no one else sees.
Imagine meeting Caldecott Award-winner author Dan Santat. In this case imagined became a reality for me.
